The Certificate in Diversity Leadership is jointly sponsored by IDEAL and the College of Education. The certificate is open to Temple University students and employees, as well as outside professionals interested in advancing their knowledge and skills in diversity facilitation. The certificate consists of four graduate courses.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
For admissions consideration, applicants should submit:
- College of Education online application.
- Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from all accredited institutions attended.
- Statement of Goals that outlines
- Intent in seeking a certificate with a specific focus on the career to which you aspire.
- Relevant interests you wish to highlight.
- Academic and job-related experiences relevant to the program.
- Two letters of reference should be obtained to provide insight regarding the applicant's academic competence.
- Professional resume.
International applicants should also submit:
- Official document that validates completion and conferral of a degree, diploma, and/or certificate.
- Official TOEFL or IELTS exam scores if a non-native speaker of English. A minimum score of 70 TOEFL iBT or 6.5 on IELTS is required for admission.
- While not required, applicants are encouraged to submit transcript(s) to the World Education Services (WES) for evaluation
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Students must complete 12 hours of graduate-level instruction, including:
- Diversity Issues in Higher Education (3 credits)
- Schools-Community Partnerships in Urban Setting (3 credits)
- Emotions, Diversity and Democratic Leadership (3 credits)
- Group Practices for Multicultural Democracies (3 credits)
