LGBTQIA+ Organizations

Temple's campus has three distinct queer organizations registered through the Office of Student Activities that foster an intersectional approach for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. These organizations provide a wide range of student advocacy, programs, and dialogues to enhance the inclusiveness of gender and sexuality on the campus.

Queer Student Union (QSU)

Formerly known as Common Ground, QSU is the oldest registered queer student organization at Temple University. QSU is dedicated to creating a safe environment on campus for all LGBTQIA+ students.

Queer People of Color (QPOC)

Pitch, Please

Mission: Founded in 2014 by Carlos Johns-Dávila and Mitch Wise, Pitch, Please is Temple University's LGBTQIA+ advocacy a cappella group. Carlos' inspiration for Pitch, Please stemmed from seeing his fathers being discriminated against and feeling the need for a musical outlet where every singer feels safe to express themselves, both musically and socially. Our mission is to reach out to and support LGBTQIA+ students and causes, and to spread positivity, empowerment, and unity through our music. Learn more about Pitch, Please.

Feminist Alliance

Mission: Feminist Alliance is an organization that works to further the values of intersectional feminism within ourselves, within Temple, and within Philadelphia. We stand firmly against oppressive systems such as patriarchy, white supremacy, and capitalism. We support movements for LGBTQIA+, disability, environmental, and immigrant justice. We fight these systems with education, action, and social events that create a community. Learn more about the Feminist Alliance
